A lucky third-year software engineering student from the University of Strathclyde has won a year’s worth of free accommodation at Glasgow’s newest and most exclusive city centre student development, St Vincent Studios.
Twenty-year-old Ali Sultanbekov scooped the prize in a competition organised by the building’s developers, Artisan Real Estate, which attracted more than 2,000 entrants. He has now secured accommodation in a high-quality studio apartment for the entire third year of his studies.
St Vincent Studios places students right at the heart of the city centre, within walking distance of all the city’s leading higher education institutions – including the University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow Caledonian University and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The distinctive green terracotta-clad building is spread over 16 floors and combines 321 self-contained studio apartments with superb ‘best-in-class’ communal facilities designed to deliver secure and sustainable accommodation to meet Glasgow’s fast-expanding student population.

St Vincent Studios is operated by Homes for Students, under its Prestige Student Living brand, and General Manager Sophie Todd joined Artisan’s Sales Executive Izzy Bastiani in showing competition winner Ali around his new home for the first time.
“I can’t believe I have won such a life-changing prize,” says Ali. “My new studio apartment has everything I need to both live and study – including an ensuite bathroom and plenty of desk space and power sockets to support the screen technology I need for my software engineering course. The communal facilities are like living in a smart hotel – fully equipped gym, cinema and games rooms, safe bike storage and stunning roof terraces and communal eating, studying and social areas. It will make a huge difference to me as I complete my degree, right in the heart of Glasgow’s exciting city centre.”

“St Vincent Studios is set to significantly raise the bar for Glasgow’s provision of premium purpose-built student accommodation,” explains Artisan’s Sales Executive Izzy Bastiani. “The site is in a superb city centre location and meets the urgent need for high-quality accommodation in the city – and in particular, individual studio apartments. The location and quality of the development is now being demonstrated by the significant level of interest from students and the number of lettings we are now achieving.”
The St Vincent Studios’ apartments are all designed for independent student living and built to balance comfort, privacy and practicality with access to an impressive range of shared facilities throughout the building whilst ensuring the students get the full student experience. Each studio has an ensuite shower room and provides a fully equipped kitchen together with a dedicated desk and study area, spacious double bed, large wardrobe and cleverly designed internal storage spaces. Students can choose from a range of room sizes – from ‘classic’ to ‘premium’ with many providing stunning city-wide views, and there are several accessible apartments to provide access for all.
The communal facilities, spread throughout the building’s 16 floors, are the best available to be found in any student accommodation in Glasgow. Unusually, the development has five private roof terraces offering spectacular views across the city centre and beyond. There are also dedicated study areas – including the study lounge, quiet zone and private meeting pods – plus an exclusive cinema room, games room, fully equipped gym and yoga/dance studio and a beautifully positioned ninth-floor private dining space and sky-lounge.
Other facilities include dedicated internal cycle storage for 160 bikes and laundry rooms featuring the latest in high-tech washer-dryers operated by a simple app. Super-fast fibre-optic Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, along with state-of-the-art CCTV. There is also a welcoming reception area with 24/7 access.

Homes for Students General Manager, Sophie Todd, adds: “It’s great to be working closely with Artisan Real Estate to ensure this is a best-in-class, purpose-built student development. We have created high-quality accommodation and amenities for students to enjoy, providing an exceptional user experience, fostering and supporting student wellbeing whilst closely integrating with the local community.”
Apartments at St Vincent Studios can now be reserved for the forthcoming 2026/27 academic year from £215 per week – an all-inclusive cost covering rent, wi-fi, electricity, heating and water. A no-risk deposit is required to reserve an apartment which can be fully refunded if any student entrance requirements are not met.
